As a result of the significant damage in Southwest Florida caused by Hurricane Ian, many tri-state contractors will be assisting with storm clean-up and repairs.
Please note the State of Florida does not recognize the “ All States Endorsement” on Workers’ Compensation policies, so to protect your interests, if you decide to work in Florida, YOUR Workers’ Compensation policy needs to be endorsed to specifically include the state of Florida.
If you have coverage through a state plan, coverage cannot be extended to cover Florida for weeks or months at a time. Therefore, you will need a policy that can cover both states or a new policy to cover just Florida. The only issue you may have is both Workers’ Compensation companies picking up the same payrolls. Check with your insurance companies as to what documents they need to avoid this from happening.
We have a Workers’ Compensation program to cover you in both states.
To ensure that you are adequately covered under your Workers’ Compensation policy, Florida will need to be added to section 3A of the policy.
